Today was an all day event to get to and from the Great Wall. It is about 50 miles outside the city, but it was a 2 hour cab ride each way (in part because our cab driver kept getting lost) and we spent about 3 hours walking the Great Wall, taking photos and having lunch.

Madison Ollar, daughter of my sister Debbie and her husband Steve Ollar. 

It seems like only yesterday that we welcomed Madison into the world, and now she’s heading off to her first day of school.

The last video gets done late tomorrow night and I have 2 days to get that one done. Here is a sample of one of the 4 videos that we did. All in all 13 people were interviewed and shot for the 4 videos that were created.

This year I setup a client table with an extra monitor and speaker to make sorting through all the footage easier. 

Today is probably the most difficult day of the trip, at least for me. Yesterday Brian and John interviewed 13 people, which today has to be turned into four, 4 minute videos that all have to be done and on tape before I leave today. I started around 10:30 and my guess is I’ll be here until close to midnight. 

Yesterday there were some technical problems that required an overnight FedEx of a new AJA IO box, and thank god that seems to have fixed the problem. Thanks to Steve and Kathy at AJA for chasing down the FedEx truck to make sure I was able to get it in time! I was a little freaked out about it all yesterday afternoon. The problem was that the audio kept dropping out during any kind of playback, including mastering. Everything is working fine now.

Andrew is back home and we’re just waiting for the results from the scan. We might not have them until tomorrow though. We’re at the mercy of the doctor at this point. 

Everything went fine at the hospital though. More as soon as I find out.

Earlier this year, just for fun we decided to see if we could get Brenda on the game show 1 vs. 100. The process is pretty easy, you just fill out a stack of paperwork and send them a 5 minute video.

They said they wanted to see what your life was like, something about your family, and a taste of what your personality was. I thought we did a good job on the demo tape, but we never received a phone call or anything! How could they not like Brenda!!!

Anyway, it was still good fun and I would do it all over again even if I knew the outcome would be the same. We had a lot of fun doing this project together.

You will need to have the latest version of QuickTime installed to view the video. If you do not have it, it’s a free download and you should just be prompted to install it once you try to play the video.
