Hide The Broccoli
What’s that, your kids will not eat fruits or veggies? The trick is to turn them into something they like!
We blend strawberries, bananas, mangoes, broccoli, spinach, flax seed and pear into a tasty “shake” that the kids actually ask for. Healthy eating without the battle.
It helps to have a good blender like the Blendtec too.
The trick is to get just the right balance so that the sweet fruit overpowers the more bitter veggies.

Profound and Moving Words
I I previously mentioned I’m readying the book The Power Of Now by Eckhart Tolle. Today I was profoundly struck by something he says in the book, so much so that I had to rewind it 4 times to hear it back again. It’s not that I didn’t understand it, it’s that it was so powerful and rang so true to me that I just needed to hear it over and over. I feel like I want to turn it into a poser that hangs over my bed so I can see it every morning when I awake. It’s very freeing.
This is the quote. I hope that you’re inspired by it, and if so you might want to read the book.

Andrew “Special Time”
In the ongoing effort to make each child in our family feel special and individual, today we started “special time”. Special time is when one child has one-on-one time with one parent. Andrew went first and dad took him to Starbucks to have coffee talk with him and teach some new life lessons.
Among the lessons taught were…- How to properly remove a straw from it’s paper wrapping.
- How to hang your coat on the back of your chair instead of just tossing it on the floor.
- How to properly navigate the iPhone interface and take photos with the built in camera.
We also stopped to “catch a train” on the way home. Today it was two freight trains heading in opposite directions (and on different tracks). All in all, it was an awesome way to start the weekend.
