Earlier this week while I was running an errand with the kids we noticed a new trampoline place. What surprised me was that it’s located in a business park, not a location that would ever really see drive by traffic. We checked it out that afternoon but today they went to actually JUMP and had a great time. All 3 were sweaty by the time that we left.
They had a “wipe out” type contraption that the boys loved. They more or less stayed on that the entire time that we were there (see photos and video below of that).
If you’re interested in checking it out yourself visit SkyHighSports.com. I can tell you that the Naperville location was amazing.
On Tuesday I was fortunate to be part of a Breast Cancer Awareness event at Halas Hall, the Chicago Bears Training Camp in Lake Forest IL.
The event was called P&G Best Defense Day of Action.
I was there to edit together a b-roll package of the days events for the local news channels to use on the evening news that same day.
Basically there was a camera crew running around all day shooting what was going on (some of it was not for the b-roll package, but for internal use later) and about every hour or so I would grab the P2 card from them and copy over the footage. I was editing the footage just after it was shot, with the goal to have everything done and out the door by 6pm.
Before I got going I had some time to walk around and take some photos. While I’m not much of a sports fan, it was exciting being there.
There are a few more photos on SmugMug. All of the photos were taken with my iPhone since it didn’t occur to me to bring my 5D. As they say, the best camera for the job is the one you have with you!
I’m Editing on-site in Chicago today, and tomorrow in Forrest Park. It’s always great coming to the city especially on a nice day.
What is amazing to me is how much the edit system itself has changed over the years.
Back in 2004, this is what my edit system looked like in Hong Kong. So not only was it a lot of gear, but it was taken half way around the globe.
And today, almost 10 years later, this is what it looks like.
Instead of 4-5 cases ranging from 70-110 lbs, I have a single case that weighs about 30 lbs. And it does everything the old system did and more, but it also does it faster.
