  • Week 8, The boys are Great!

    Brenda and Andrew

It has only been 8 weeks but it seems like at least a year. It’s just hard to remember what things were like before they came along.

This weekend we had our friend Don over on Saturday and it was his first time meeting the boys. We all just hung out and relaxed with some pizza and beer while playing with them (as much as we could between sleeping and eating). It was a nice relaxing evening.

This week Andrew was weighed and we found out that he’s almost 11 lbs. now. Max has grown as well but we don’t have an official weight on him.

They are both smiling now. It just melts your heart when you pick them up, they make eye contact, and then just smile from ear to ear. Yesterday when I picked Andrew up he was mad and crying, but a few seconds later he was just looking at me with a huge grin. What’s not to love!

I have more video then I have time to process right now, so I’m not sure what else I’ll have posted this week.

    Have a great week!

  • Seven Weeks Old

The boys are now 7 weeks old and you can really tell. They’re just so much more mature now, they’re walking and Andrew actually just started learning how to use the computer. OK, maybe not, but they are changing.

The best change so far has been that they sleep longer. Five hours is pretty usual now, and 6 has happened a few times. We had one day that Max slept 8 hours but that was probably just a fluke since he was really exhausted.

Brenda is really getting her routine down and having Rachel start this week will help that as well. Rachel will be helping out Wednesday and Thursdays to start, and we’ll go from there.

I have more video of the boys so I’ll be posting a clip each day this week.

  • Going Public

While it’s too cold to go walking around the neighborhood with the boys right now, we decided to take them to Woodfield Mall today and do some indoor walking. It was our first real attempt to take them in public for any length of time. I got the idea after talking to my sister Dawn who has been doing that with her little one John.

We ended up being gone for about 4 hours and the boys did very well and seemed to enjoy all of the new sights, sounds, and smells. We felt like celebrities at times because so many people were taken by the fact that the boys were twins (it’s hard to miss in a doublewide stroller). You could hear people talking and whispering as we walked by, and in a few cases people actually stopped us and asked questions about them. It was kind of fun.

We ended up getting home just in time for another feeding and to put them down to rest. They didn’t sleep much at all while at the mall so they were pretty tired when we got back.

So we now have a new (and very inexpensive) weekend activity that gets us out of the house, even in the winter!

  • The Twins Visit Edit Creations

Today the boys took a field trip to the office to meet our friends there. It was really nice to share them with so many people today and I know Brenda really enjoyed getting out of the house!

The boys were really good with being passed around to everybody and only got a little cranky towards the end when they got hungry. The whole visit lasted around 2 hours.

After nearly 6 weeks and a screwed up order (we actually received a picture of another families baby), we finally received the one print that we ordered from the hospital.

The boys did good posing, but the quality of the final photo was just OK. But, it’s what we have.

I really enjoy the way Max is posing in this one.
