A few years back I attached a GoPro car to the ceiling of the car and just recorded random moments from time to time. There are some real genuine moments when they’re such a captured audience and I was hoping to catch some of them.
This video is one of the ones I love to watch from time to time, of Sydney singing “Sugar” by Maroon 5.
I don’t know if this is going to stick, but I’m going to try something new.
It’s hard to find the time to actually edit videos anymore, at least not as often as I used to. So every so often I’m just going to create a short highlights reel of recent video clips.
So here is the first, and possibly the last attempt at that.
Late last year Sydney entered an art class at her elementary school. It was a very last-minute project that I refused to do with her due to her late request despite knowing about it for weeks. However, her mom was much more understanding.
The contest was to create art of any type, from writing a story or poem to shooting photos or even demonstrating creative dance. The only rule was to stick to the theme, “Within Reach”. So each child could interpret that however he/she wanted to.
Brenda (the nice parent) and Sydney worked together on a short animated story. Sydney came up with the story idea and drew the graphic elements as well as the voiceover. Brenda helped pull it all together using Adobe Character Animator. Not bad at all for a rush job.
Out of over 300 submissions, Sydney and her project were chosen to be shown at an awards night ceremony, where some of the best ones were shown and some of the winners advanced to the state level competition. Sydney was not one of the state finalists, but I think she’s already looking ahead to next years contest.
Here’s a short video of her receiving her award, as well as the video she submitted.
The day I’ve been waiting for finally arrived. The day I should start teaching the kids how to edit FOR ME!
Today Andrew is doing a cutdown/stringer of the entire AGT 2017 season while removing all commercials. He’s all over the JKL keys and is learning fast. Because it’s one of those really repetitive jobs it’s a great one to learn basic skills on.
I can finally get caught up with a lot of digitizing old media and having him edit it down and save out master clips, something I’ve been holding off on until I got somebody up to speed.
